Sign types
Choose the right structure and understand its display limits.
| Type | Display | Placement |
|---|---|---|
| Left or right roadside matrix | Three text lines; one symbol; four repair sections | Choose the support side that suits the road. |
| Lane gantry | A symbol or speed for each lane; 1–6 lanes per direction | Single direction or double gantry for both directions. |
| Matrix gantry | Independent forward and reverse message faces | Adjustable span with full-size message boards. |
Matrix messages
Roadside matrices allow 24 characters per line, or 20 with a symbol. Matrix gantries allow 32, or 26 with a symbol. Linked messages use the common 20-character limit per line so they fit compatible members. Each board has three lines and selectable alignment.
Symbols include lane open, lane closed, caution, merge left/right, pass either side, left/right lane ends and traffic merging, plus blank. Caution is an amber triangle with a centered exclamation mark. Clear a symbol by selecting blank.
Matrix displays can cycle 2–8 pages with an interval of 2–30 seconds. Lane heads are static and do not join matrix text groups.
Lane gantries
Choose a lane and direction to set its symbol or a speed from 5–85 mph in steps of five. Apply to all lanes affects the selected direction only. Reverse lanes remain separately editable.
Single-direction gantries support an 11–40 m span; double lane gantries and matrix gantries support 14–60 m. Placement controls adjust lane positions and board offsets without changing the authored display size.
Power and warning lamps
Warning lights are optional amber corner lamps, off by default. They follow power and blackout state. A failed lane or matrix-gantry face suppresses its lamps; the original four-section matrix retains its board-wide warning setting.
The common cabinet power gates the whole sign. Matrix gantry faces also retain their own display settings. Text linking does not turn signs on, copy directional symbols or repair damaged sections.
Forward and reverse are the sign's authored directions, not compass labels. Check the placement preview before assigning directional arrows.
