Damage and repairs
Use the original physical service panel and wiring tasks.
Damage affects individual display sections, lanes or matrix-gantry faces. Text and symbols can flicker, drop out or show scrambled blocks. Intended messages remain saved; editing a message or toggling power does not fix damage.
Repair a section
- Reach the sign's service panel. Roadside matrices have four rear service bays; gantries use the fixed catwalk service controller.
- Open the service view and select the affected section, lane or face where a selector is available.
- Choose repair and reconnect matching circuit letters on the LCD.
- Complete the wiring and minimum service time. Only that selected section is repaired.
With FS-Lib, E opens the service view; G provides door-only access where a door exists. The original service keypad uses F1 for repair, F2 for permitted physical sabotage, 1–4 for wires, ENT to connect and ESC to cancel. The LCD shows current instructions.
Repair controls are shown only when authorized. The server checks access, session ownership, proximity, wiring and duration. Closing the view, leaving, dying or disconnecting cancels unfinished work. Blackout hides the LCD and pauses wiring input.
Physical wiring sabotage
This original optional action disconnects circuits in the requested order and damages the selected hardware section. It does not replace message text. Its permission is separate from repair and is not granted by LUX. Restrict Config.Access.sabotage if it should not be public.
Sources of damage
Bullet hits accumulate per section; the supplied threshold is 10. Networked explosions use housing distance and blast strength, with a default 12 m radius. Support/cabinet bullet hits do not count as display hits.
Completed faults persist. Partial damage accumulation resets on restart or placement changes. Faults can also be scheduled with optional automatic breakdown; automatic repair is a separate switch. Both timers are disabled by default.
There are no module-diagnostics, display-test or message-tampering tasks in the current service panel.
