Price Signs

Place normal and tall fuel signs, change models, and choose roadside lighting.

FS-Fuel includes nine 3D sign styles. Their prices follow the same regional gasoline and diesel tariffs used for new pump sales, including automatic adjustments and the fixed 9/10-cent ending. A separate FS-GasSign resource is not required.

Place a sign

Open /fueladmin and select Price signs, or use /fuelsign. The admin ACE and placement controls are shared with pumps.

Choose Normal or Tall, then select a style:

SizeStyleSaved type
NormalRegularregular
NormalDieseldiesel
NormalCombocombo
NormalClassicclassic
NormalRoadsideroadside
TallRegulartall_regular
TallDieseltall_diesel
TallCombotall
TallClassictall_classic

There is no tall roadside variant. Combo, classic, and roadside styles display both regular and diesel prices.

Use Place in world or Precise adjustments, then Save placement. Tall signs need more space; their previews start farther ahead. The inspector shows the price at the preview's location. Place signs in the same pricing region as the pumps they advertise.

The saved list supports All / Normal / Tall filters and search. You can select an existing sign at any distance; use its waypoint to visit it when you need to inspect its world placement.

Change an existing sign's model

Select the saved sign, then choose another Sign model using the Normal/Tall switcher. The replacement previews at the same position and rotation. Adjust it if needed, then save.

Saving keeps the placement's stable ID. Cancel restores the original sign. Duplicate placement creates a separate unsaved copy; saving the copy gives it its own ID.

Roadside lighting

Roadside signs default to lighting on, both sides. In the inspector:

  • Turn Roadside lighting off for no fixtures.
  • With lighting on, choose Front, Both sides, or Back.
  • Preview the result, then save; cancel restores the previous setting.

Front means the model's negative-Y face. The fixtures follow the sign's position, heading, and tilt. Lighting choices survive duplication and restarts. Changing to a different sign style removes the roadside-only setting.

Visibility and prices

Config.GasSigns controls whether signs appear, their streaming distance (default 200 meters), and the maximum number visible per player (default 24 nearest signs).

The supplied price meshes support values below $10 per gallon. A price that cannot fit leaves that row blank and shows a warning in the admin panel, rather than displaying an incorrect lower price.

Signs show the current tariff for a new sale. A nozzle already dispensing keeps its locked sale price until returned, so its price can temporarily differ after a price update.

Saved locations

Signs save to data/sign_placements.json; the previous valid snapshot is kept in data/sign_placements.json.bak. In-game saves synchronize immediately without restarting.

For manual editing, stop FS-Fuel first, preserve existing entries and unique IDs, and restart afterward. A minimal roadside entry looks like this:

{
  "version": 1,
  "placements": [
    {
      "id": 1,
      "type": "roadside",
      "coords": { "x": 1973.0, "y": 3752.0, "z": 31.15 },
      "heading": 0.0,
      "lighting": "both"
    }
  ]
}

Coordinates are examples; fit the sign to your map. lighting accepts off, front, both, or back on roadside signs; leaving it out means both. Optional rotation stores an object such as {"x": 0.0, "y": 0.0, "z": 90.0} in degrees. enabled: false hides a placement.

Keep both placement JSON files when updating your resource. See placement backups.

Command shortcuts

/fuelsign add <type> previews a new sign using a saved type from the table. /fuelsign move, /fuelsign duplicate, and /fuelsign delete select the nearest saved sign through the same editor. The panel is the easiest way to choose a specific distant placement.
